Longer Neoprene Covers That Keep Salt and Grit Off Your Dampers

A set of four Tegiwa coilover socks in the 350mm length, for coilovers with a longer damper body. They wrap around the damper body and lower spring seat to keep water, road salt and grit away from the shock body and the threaded ride height collars, which are the first parts to suffer on a coilover that lives outside all year.

Each sock is cut from neoprene with a heavy-duty Velcro closure running its full length, so it goes on with the coilovers still fitted to the car and comes off again in seconds when you want to adjust the ride height or clean up. They suit most coilover designs, including BC Racing, MeisterR, HSD and Racing Logic kits, and are also available in a 300mm length and a mixed set of two 300mm and two 350mm for cars with different front and rear damper lengths.

Fitment

Universal fit for most coilover kits, including BC Racing, MeisterR, HSD and Racing Logic. Measure the length of damper body you want to cover, from just below the lower spring seat to the lower mount, and choose this 350mm sock if that measurement is more than 300mm. For shorter bodies the 300mm sock is the neater fit, and the mixed set covers cars where the front and rear dampers differ.

Not suitable for: coilovers with a damper body of 300mm or less, where the 350mm sock would bunch up. Choose the 300mm version instead.

Installation

Clean the damper body and threads and let them dry. For the best protection, treat the metal with ACF-50 anti-corrosion spray first and wipe off any excess. Wrap the sock around the damper body with the Velcro seam facing away from the tyre, press the closure together firmly along its full length, and check that the sock cannot touch the tyre, brake lines or anti-roll bar link at full lock and full compression. Peel the sock back whenever you adjust the ride height and refit it afterwards.

Which length do I need, 300mm or 350mm?

Measure the exposed damper body below the spring. If it is more than 300mm, this 350mm sock is the one. Shorter bodies suit the 300mm version, and the mixed set covers cars with a different length front and rear.

Will they fit my coilovers?

They fit most coilovers, including BC Racing, MeisterR, HSD and Racing Logic. The Velcro closure gives plenty of adjustment around the body, so damper diameter is rarely a problem. If you have an unusual design, such as a reservoir mounted on the damper body, contact us before ordering.

Do I need to remove the coilovers to fit them?

No. The full-length Velcro closure means they wrap around the damper with the coilover still on the car. Turning the steering to full lock gives you room to work on the fronts.

Can I still adjust ride height with the socks on?

Yes. Peel the sock back to get at the locking collars, make your adjustment and refit the sock. Nothing needs to be unbolted.

Do the socks trap moisture against the damper?

Neoprene keeps the worst of the spray, salt and grit off, but no cover is completely sealed. Treat the damper with ACF-50 before fitting the socks, and take them off for a check and a wipe down every few months, particularly after winter.

Is this a full set for the car?

Yes. You get four socks, one for each coilover.
