Yellow Speed Racing Dynamic Pro Sport Digressive coilovers for the BMW M3 E46 (2001-2006). They use digressive valving for drivers who do track days, autocross and spirited road driving.

Unlike a linear valve, a digressive valve gives its strongest damping at low piston speeds and then tapers off as speeds rise. That gives a sharp, controlled response to steering, braking and body roll, while still letting the suspension move freely over bigger, faster bumps.

Expect a firmer ride than standard at low speeds, and some extra road noise. These are a performance setup rather than a comfort-focused road suspension.

Fitment

• BMW M3 E46 (2001-2006)
• Rear shock and spring are supplied as one assembly. The vehicle body needs trimming to fit it.

Installation

The coilovers replace the standard dampers and springs. Set the ride height and spring preload, let the suspension settle, then recheck the height and have a four-wheel alignment carried out. We recommend professional fitting.

Please note: Pillow ball upper mounts make a small amount of noise. This is normal and does not affect performance or safety. Yellow Speed Racing also offer hardened rubber upper mounts (R/U) for quieter running. Digressive coilovers are designed for track use and give a firmer ride at low speeds. No warranty is offered against damper-related noise. Some trimming of the vehicle body is required.

What does digressive valving do?

It gives the most damping at low piston speeds for tight body control, then tapers off at high speeds so the car copes better with sharp bumps and kerbs.
