Yellow Speed Racing Dynamic Pro Gravel Rally 1-Way coilovers for the BMW 3-Series E46 (1998-2005). They are an affordable coilover kit for drivers who prefer off-road gravel rally to circuit racing. This listing is for the RWD version.

Shock travel is long, close to standard, and the car can be raised by approx. 1.5in (38mm) or more above factory height depending on the application. The lower brackets are reinforced for extra rigidity, so the kit can cope with jumps and gravel impacts.

MacPherson strut cars use 55mm inverted monotube dampers to keep brake heat away from the damper oil. Damping is adjustable through 33 levels. Pillow ball upper mounts are standard where applicable, with hardened rubber mounts (R/U) available for some race regulations, and the front upper mount is approx. 4mm thicker than standard on many cars.

• 2 x front coilovers with springs and top mounts (rubber upper mount)
• 2 x rear coilovers with springs, plus top mounts (aluminium upper mount or aluminium pillow ball upper mount)

Fitment

• BMW 3-Series E46 (1998-2005) – RWD
• Fits rear-wheel-drive models only. Rear shock and spring are supplied as one assembly. The vehicle body needs trimming to fit it. Fronts come with non-adjustable lower bracket.

Not suitable for: models other than rear-wheel-drive versions. Please check your model, drive type and strut size before ordering.

Installation

The coilovers replace the standard dampers and springs. Set the ride height and spring preload, let the suspension settle, then recheck the height and have a four-wheel alignment carried out. We recommend professional fitting.

Please note: Pillow ball upper mounts make a small amount of noise. This is normal and does not affect performance or safety. Yellow Speed Racing also offer hardened rubber upper mounts (R/U) for quieter running. Gravel Rally kits are designed for off-road rally use and are not covered by YSR's warranty. Some trimming of the vehicle body is required. The front dampers come with a non-adjustable lower bracket.

Does this lower my car?

No. Gravel Rally kits raise the car, by approx. 1.5in (38mm) or more above standard depending on the model.

How is the damping adjusted?

A single adjuster on each damper gives 33 levels of adjustment.

Can I use them for tarmac or circuit racing?

They are designed for gravel and loose surfaces. For tarmac or circuit use, see the Advanced Pro Plus Tarmac Rally or Circuit Race ranges.

Can I get rubber top mounts?

Yes. Hardened rubber upper mounts (R/U) are available for some race regulations.

Will the pillow ball mounts be noisy?

They make a small amount of noise, which is normal. Hardened rubber upper mounts (R/U) are available for quieter running.

Do I need a wheel alignment after fitting?

Yes. Changing the ride height alters the suspension geometry, so a four-wheel alignment should be carried out once the car has settled.

What warranty is included?

Yellow Speed Racing do not offer warranty cover on Gravel Rally kits because of the conditions they are used in. YSR do offer a rebuild service, so contact us if your kit needs attention.
