Description
YSR Dynamic Pro Drift Coilovers for BMW M5 E34 (1988-1995) – Drift Coilovers Developed with D1 Drivers, 33-Way Adjustable
Yellow Speed Racing Dynamic Pro Drift coilovers for the BMW M5 E34 (1988-1995). They are built for controlled slides and drift competition.
They were developed for Yellow Speed Racing by drivers from Japan's Nichiei Racing Team, including four-time D1 champion Yoichi Imamura, and are still tested with YSR's sponsored professional drivers.
Spring rates and valving are matched specifically for drifting, with reinforced lower mounts and helper springs where applicable. MacPherson strut cars get inverted monotube dampers to keep brake heat away from the damper oil, resist side loads and reduce unsprung weight, and cars with rear wishbones get a thickened 20mm rear damper shaft. Damping is adjustable through 33 levels.

- Helper springs (where applicable)
Fitment
- BMW M5 E34 (1988-1995)
- Welding required for installation.
Not suitable for: models or versions not listed above. Please check your model, drive type and strut size before ordering.
Installation
The coilovers replace the standard dampers and springs. Set the ride height and spring preload, let the suspension settle, then recheck the height and have a four-wheel alignment carried out. We recommend professional fitting.
Please note: Pillow ball upper mounts make a small amount of noise. This is normal and does not affect performance or safety. Yellow Speed Racing also offer hardened rubber upper mounts (R/U) for quieter running. Welding is required for installation.

Who developed these coilovers?
They were developed with drivers from Japan's Nichiei Racing Team, including four-time D1 champion Yoichi Imamura.
How is the damping adjusted?
Each damper has a 33-level adjuster that sets compression and rebound together.
Can I use them on the road?
They are set up for drifting and competition, so expect a firm ride on the road.
Can I adjust the ride height without changing preload?
Yes. Ride height is set by winding the lower bracket up or down, so spring preload and damper travel stay the same.
Will the pillow ball mounts be noisy?
They make a small amount of noise, which is normal. Hardened rubber upper mounts (R/U) are available for quieter running.
Do I need a wheel alignment after fitting?
Yes. Changing the ride height alters the suspension geometry, so a four-wheel alignment should be carried out once the car has settled.
What warranty is included?
Yellow Speed Racing cover Dynamic Pro Drift coilovers with a 3 month limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
