Bilstein Clubsport Coilovers for BMW 2-Series F22 F23 F87 RWD (2012-2021) – Two-Way Adjustable, Track Focused
Bilstein Clubsport coilovers are a track-focused suspension for the BMW 2-Series F22 F23 F87 RWD, built by Bilstein in Germany. Ride height is set on threaded bodies, and each damper has separate rebound and bump adjusters for a precise, personal setup.
With 10 clicks on each of the two aluminium dials there are 100 damping combinations, giving you the range to tune the car for different circuits, tyres and conditions. Clubsport is aimed at drivers who spend serious time on track and want motorsport-grade adjustment.
Performance
- Ride height: Height adjustable
- Damping: Two-way adjustable: 10 clicks rebound x 10 clicks bump (100 settings)
- Damper design: Monotube gas-pressure
Ride-height figures are Bilstein's application data for this part number, measured against the car's standard ride height. The actual change depends on the car's engine, equipment and the condition of the parts being replaced.

Fitment
- BMW 2-Series F22 F23 F87 RWD (2012-2021)
- Also fits: F36
Not suitable for: other versions of this car, which have their own Bilstein Clubsport part numbers: BMW 2-Series F22 F87 Without EDC Pre 2015 RWD 12-21; cars with factory electronic damping or self-levelling suspension unless stated above; other generations, body styles or drivetrains not listed above.
Installation
The factory dampers and springs are removed (spring compressors are needed to strip the original front struts) and the Bilstein units fitted in their place. Set the ride height equally side to side before fitting, tighten the lock rings, and never go below the minimum thread engagement given in Bilstein's instructions. Check that the wheels and tyres clear the arches and suspension at full lock and full compression. Let the springs settle, re-check the ride height, then have a four-wheel alignment carried out. We recommend professional fitting.
Will this fit every BMW 2-Series F87?
No. Bilstein makes separate kits for different versions of this car, split by body style, drivetrain, engine or axle load. This one is for the BMW 2-Series F22 F23 F87 RWD (2012-2021). Check the Fitment section and the Not suitable for line, and contact us with your registration if you're unsure.
How low can I go?
Height adjustable. Always keep the minimum thread engagement shown in Bilstein's instructions and check that the tyres clear the arches at full lock and full compression.
How does the damping adjustment work?
Each damper has two dials with 10 clicks each: one for rebound and one for bump. That gives 100 combinations. Change one dial a couple of clicks at a time and keep both sides of the car the same.
Do I need a wheel alignment after fitting?
Yes. Changing the ride height changes the suspension geometry, so a four-wheel alignment is needed after fitting. Let the springs settle for a few hundred miles first and re-check the ride height.
Is Clubsport suitable for the road?
Clubsport is developed for track use and is firmer than Bilstein's road kits. Many owners do drive on the road, but if the car is mainly a daily driver, B16 or EVO T1 will be more comfortable. Tell your insurer about any suspension change.
What type of dampers does it use?
Monotube gas-pressure, according to Bilstein's data for this part number. Gas-pressure dampers resist fading when they get hot during hard driving.
Is there a warranty?
Yes. Bilstein suspension is covered against defects in materials and workmanship. Contact us with your order number if you have any problem.
Do I need new top mounts?
They are not included. If your existing top mounts, bearings or bump stops are worn, replace them while the suspension is apart, as worn mounts can cause knocks and affect the alignment.
